Prospects is the lead Christian organisation for people with learning disabilities and their families.
As a Charity our aim is to provide appropriate quality support enabling people to live their lives to the full.
Our experience in providing spiritual support adds value to the professional expertise that is available and contributes to a holistic approach to individual support.
Our Values (how we do things in Prospects)
The Prospects Principle of Personal Value is at the heart of the Charity’s vision and mission, designed to ensure that each person is supported to lead a full life.
History of Prospects
Founded in 1976 by Reverend David and Madeleine Potter, Prospects has seen remarkable growth throughout the United Kingdom. The Charity was known as "A Cause for Concern" for 20 years, changing its name to “Prospects” in 1997.
Our Lives Our Prospects, about the Forum
Every three months, a group of 10 people, each of us representing a region of the UK, sits down to talk in our Reading office. The group is called Our Lives Our Prospects, and it’s the national forum where the people supported by Prospects can talk about the issues which affect their lives. But much more than that, it is where we can have a say in the decisions that are made which affect us.
