The Prospects Vision and Mission

The Prospects Vision (what we would like to see happen)

Through developing the work of Prospects in the UK and beyond, Prospects is committed to enabling more people with learning disabilities to enjoy wider acceptance & inclusion, better services and support and more opportunities to share and experience God’s love in Christ.

Our Mission (how will we deliver this)
You can download our Strategy 2010-2015 summary here (2-page pdf).

  • Ensuring a stronger voice for people
We are committed to enabling people with learning disabilities to have their say whenever that is possible. We listen carefully. If a person cannot express their preferences, we will speak up for them.
  • Responding to need and demand
Our aim is to provide support that fully meets people’s needs, however complex or demanding that might be.
  • Maintaining our Christian distinctiveness
Prospects is distinctively Christian in its ethos and values, and we are committed to maintaining that distinctiveness.
  • Living out our values
The Principle of Personal Value is comprehensive and Biblically based, but it has to get beyond the page. Every Prospects Service and ministry group is required to think it through and put it into practice.
  • Facilitating programmes for growth
Prospects has a clear strategy for growth, both in service provision and church partnerships.
  • Actively developing partnerships
We are not a go-it-alone organisation! We partner with agencies and organisations in the UK and overseas to take advantage of each other’s expertise and experience. That way, we achieve much more and avoid reinventing the wheel.
