Casa Silvia
A visit to Romania in 2002 resulted in Prospects forming a partnership with Fundatia Crestina Elim (FC Elim) to raise money for a home for 6 children with learning disabilities leaving local orphanages. The home is staffed by Christians who encourage the children in their faith.
The partnership with Prospects has blossomed. Volunteers from Prospects regularly visit the home to cover staff leave, encourage and mentor their staff in their work and give help and advice as needed. They also raise much needed funds. Local communities still struggle integrating children with disabilities and the project has been greatly encouraged by having Western volunteers who take the children out and about.
Silvia a bubbly teenager, after which Casa Silvia is named loves the Lord, participates in household duties, enjoys arts and crafts and attends a special needs class run by FC Elim. Prospects would like to help more people like Silvia. You can partner this project by volunteering, fundraising and prayer gaining insights into communities where Christ is at the centre and miracles happen.
