Disability Sunday - 6th June 2010

Did you know 6th June is Disability Sunday?
This day is an opportunity to celebrate with people with learning disabilities in our communities and our churches. Why not encourage your church to invite people with learning disabilities in the area to an inclusive celebration? Try asking your local council about nearby homes and services where you could invite people.
Prospects have created a pack to help you to prepare this celebration, containing:
- relevant teaching material,
- music,
- invitations,
- and all the necessary guidance to make Disability Sunday the beginning of a fruitful ministry in your church.
The blessing that people with learning disabilities can bring to your church is immense and profound - and we will be there to help every step of the way.
If the 6th of June is not the right date for you, please do request a pack anyway - after all, any Sunday can be a perfect Sunday for an inclusive celebration!
Even if you can't hold an inclusive celebration that day, may we encourage your church to donate your offerings of Disability Sunday to the work of Prospects? This ministry supports 178 Causeway groups where people with learning disabilities can explore and develop their faith. We would be happy to send you information for the congregation showing how their offering can bring eternal life to people that otherwise might never hear about God’s love.
