Prospects - Working with Adults with Learning Disabilities

Developments in Norfolk and Cornwall

Pete WinmillGod is a generous God and we are being constantly encouraged in our work.  In Norfolk, where to our disappointment we have discovered that Living Water will not happen in 2007, I got a call from a local minister shortly afterwards.  2006 Living Water had inspired him and a member of his congregation to do something for people with learning disabilities in Norfolk.  In fact they would like to develop a ‘centre of excellence’ and lead the rest of Norfolk into ministry with people with learning disabilities.  A training day is now planned.  One door may close but God opens another.

The second encouragement has history going back five years, just after I started this post.  A training day was scheduled in Cornwall, then it was cancelled and while some in Cornwall continued to pray for opportunities nothing subsequently happened.  Now we are starting some services there and on March 6th are holding a celebration in Helston.  Churches are being energised to support Prospects and Love Cornwall (http://www.lovecormwall.org/) are asking Causeway Prospects to be part of a mission to Cornwall in 2008.  Years of prayers are being answered positively, Cornwall is opening up, God’s timing not ours.
