What does everyone on the Causeway Team do?

The Team

Director of Mission & Ministry, Tony Phelps-Jones.

Tony has oversight of the Causeway Prospects network of groups and activities and is one of the directors on the executive team of Prospects. Tony writes songs and Bible reading notes to help people with learning disabilities access spiritual truth and participate in worship. Other areas of work include leading ministry teams at events like Spring Harvest, Keswick Convention and Grapevine, and speaking at conferences and exhibitions.

PA to Director of Mission & Ministry, Tua Phelps-Jones.

Tua looks after Tony’s diary and other PA and administrative duties, for example for ministry events and Spring Harvest accommodation reservations, and handles various enquiries.
She is in the office on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.


Assistant Director of Mission and Ministry, Pete Winmill.

Pete has oversight and development of the Causeway Prospects network of groups and activities across the UK. He is available to speak at churches, conferences and exhibitions, anywhere where there are opportunities to raise awareness about the mission, and enjoys leading ministry teams in England and France.  He believes passionately in a church that is open to all. Mission Resources

Mission Resources Co-ordinator, Esther Kuganja. 

Her job is to co-ordinate and manage the purchase, production, storage, marketing, sales, despatch and recording of Causeway Prospects resource materials. She also responds to enquiries about Causeway Prospects resource materials.

Fiona

Mission Development Co-Ordinator for Northern Ireland, Fiona Murphy.

Fiona covers all of Northern Ireland supporting existing Causeway groups through training and regional celebrations and events.  She also encourages churches in inclusive ministry.  She is responsible for developing accessible ministry at Christian events including New Horizon.

Whether you want to set up a new group, enquire about training days or resources or ask some advice, Fiona would be happy to speak with you. She works part time but her hours are very flexible.

Mission Development Co-Ordinator for Northern England and Wales, Jo Bodsworth.

Jo covers the Midlands, the North of England and all of Wales.  As well as supporting the Causeway Groups in these areas Jo also advises and assists churches wishing to start a new ministry among adults with learning disabilities.  If this is an area your church is considering then please contact Jo and she will arrange to come and see you and/or run a ministry training day for you.  Jo is part-time working 22 hours per week - so book early to avoid disappointment!

Mission Development Co-Ordinator for Scotland, Ivy Blair.

Ivy covers Scotland and supports the existing Causeway Prospects groups there. An important part of the work is to support Churches to think more inclusively about welcoming people with a learning disability and setting up new groups - bringing the good news of Jesus in an understandable format. Ivy works 22 hours each week and is happy to speak with you about any aspect of this work including training needs and resources. Makaton Co-Ordinator, Teresa Cutmore.

She is responsible for all signing & symbol needs.

There is an excellent training day for all members of Causeway Prospects which is licensed by the Makaton Charity. Everyone who comes enjoys this very interactive day which reflects so well Prospects' principle of Personal Value. There are also a number of resources using the Makaton Language programme.
