Prospects - Working with Adults with Learning Disabilities

History

Prospects was founded by David and Madeleine Potter in 1976 as "A Cause for Concern".

Since then Prospects has seen remarkable growth throughout the United Kingdom. Our policies and activities are based on the Principle of Personal Value and we operate within a distinctive Christian ethos.

Prospects works in partnership with local authorities, Housing Associations and local churches. We are committed to expressing Christian principles and values through high standards of professional practice, supporting and enabling adults with learning disabilities to live their lives to the full.

In August 1997 Prospects achieved the Investor in People Award which accredits its professional approach to management practice and the training and development of staff and volunteers to fulfil its mission and objectives.

Prospects supports over 300 people with learning disabilities in a range of living and day opportunities settings throughout the UK. In addition there are now over 180 Causeway Prospects groups across the UK providing Christian spiritual support.

Our first home opened in 1979 in Aberystwyth and Prospects now has nearly 50 services in different parts of England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
