Update - New Life in India
Release date: 3rd April 2012
Pramodini's life has been transformed since starting school at Prospects partner, Mukti mission. She has found faith in Christ and devoted her life to understanding and pleasing God. She listens intently to the Word of God and would rather do jobs to help others than play outside at break time. While her own reading skills develop, she gets her sister, Pratibha to read the Bible to her. They came to Mukti from a background of poverty and deprivation both parents died of AIDS by Pramodini’s 4th birthday but now they have new life and hope.
The special needs school at Mukti caters for several dozen children with learning disabilities, currently squashed into a single classroom building. But, good news! A completely new special needs school is being built this year a £48,000 project for which £40,000 has already been raised. Thank you so much to all who have been able to contribute already.
If you are able to support this project personally or through raising awareness of this need we would be delighted to hear from you.
Anil and Lorraine, the leaders of Mukti Mission will be visiting the UK in September to share their vision for the future. A small team of Prospects’ volunteers will then visit India to commission the work.
When complete, the school will enable Mukti to provide Christian love and support to more families in their communities, helping them to overcome difficulties created by poverty and special needs.
