National library exhibition in Aberystwyth

2007-09-National Library RoseNine artists from Plas Lluest day services have enjoyed putting together a multi-sensory exhibition about the National library as part of their centenary celebrations.  ‘Our library through silence and sound’ is a collection of experiences using film footage, Braille, pictures, writing on clay and homemade paper books.

The artists had regular visits to the library to discover what was there.  The library has all the publications, film, maps, sound and pictures which are produced in Wales.

2007-09-National Library TimRuth Davies wrote on clay some of the words she found on her visit.  Tim Davies worked with colour showing the exterior of the building.  The chief librarian has bought his picture as a souvenir of the 100 year celebrations.

The exhibition was officially opened by Keith Lewis the chair of the Plas Lluest local support group on Friday 7 September.  It runs until 16 November.
