The 1.5 people with learning disabilities in the UK are often marginalised in and excluded from general society and, unfortunately, from churches and the Christian life. Causeway Prospects is a unique Christian organisation making available the Gospel and involvement in Christian growth and discipleship to people who find ordinary Church and scripture difficult to understand. However resources for this work are not matching demand for the help being requested. Prospects are asking you to put aside some time in praying for increased gift income so that the Gospel of life and love may reach all people irrespective of learning ability.
Paragraph for Church Prayers:
We pray to our Father God who loves all equally irrespective of ability or accomplishment. Loving Father, we pray that, as those seeking to follow Christ, we would welcome and value all, particularly people with learning disabilities who are so often marginalised and excluded by our community, forgive us if by any action or omission we have turned away any of your children from finding your love and truth. We ask your blessing of the work of Prospects as they seek to offer a way to Jesus to those who struggle to understand the written word and traditional Church. We ask that the financial resources Prospects needs will be provided so they may meet the increasing demands to help people with learning disabilities to meet and grow with Jesus.
