Creative God, Creative People 2008
“We are a creative people and have a wonderful creative God!”
18th October had finally arrived and the lobby of the Kings House Conference Centre in Manchester was buzzing with people who had arrived from all over the UK to celebrate, learn and know more Prospects but more so to discover that we are a creative people and we have a wonderful and creative God.
The day started off with worship in the main auditorium followed by the key note messages from David Potter, the founder of Prospects and Aman Lee who is autistic and communicates with the help of a keyboard and a translator.
We then moved onto the different sessions that were available to attend throughout the day.

Drama and Mime The drama and mime session started with people having to greet someone without using their mouths and arms. The delegates who attended had to mime singing, dancing and even eating. The whole purpose was to give people an idea of what it is like for someone with learning difficulties. Towards the end of the session some people in the group put together a very short version of Jesus walking on water and getting Peter out of the boat. |

Making Music The Making Music session was simply fantastic as there were a variety of musical instruments to choose from. People were put into 6 groups and there was a selection of basic percussion instruments such as chime bars, triangles, bells and castanets. Towards the end of the session delegates put a piece together of the first seven days of the world with each table being a different day. |

Celebration After the workshop we all went back into the hall for the final hour of worship which was awesome. A group of learning disabled people sang “Lord I lift your name on high” on the stage whilst the rest of us sang with them. We finished the worship with Marching in the light of God with those who were able marching around the room with flags that had been made in a workshop earlier in the day |
