The PPV reflects the desire to provide a service that addresses the
needs and aspirations of the whole person. Prospects believes God has
created each person with body, mind and spirit and that each facet
needs to be enjoyed and developed.
The values that make up the PPV are the values that Prospects seeks to
make real in all its services – seeing each person as unique people and
with unique potentials. As practicing Christians, Prospects staff seek
to put their faith into action by providing a high quality,
professional service for people with learning disabilities.
Individuality
Each person should be valued and affirmed as an individual and enabled to express and develop their God-given uniqueness.
Empowerment
People with learning disabilities should be free to initiate choices and at all times be enabled to participate in decisions which affect their lives.
Dignity
People with learning disabilities should be valued and respected with due acknowledgment of their age and life experience.
Independence
People with learning disabilities should be encouraged and supported to move towards greater independence with greater control over their lifestyle choices.
Inclusion
People with learning disabilities should be enabled to participate in Prospects, their local community and in the wider society where they so wish and supported to understand their rights and responsibilities as citizens.
Spirituality
People with learning disabilities have spiritual needs and the right to
spiritual fulfilment. They should have opportunity for personal
Christian growth.
