Prospects - Working with Adults with Learning Disabilities

Our Lives - Our Prospects

Our Lives - Our Prospects is the National forum for people supported by Prospects.

Our Lives - Our Prospects exists so people Prospects supports can be a part of the decision making process in Prospects and speak publicly about issues that affect us. For example there are several issues around funding and discrimination that we are currently lobbying parliament about.

Each region has their own representative.  You can click on the left-hand side menu to learn more about each representative!

How it works

Each area of the UK has its own representative, elected by the local Prospects members.  They meet quarterly, bringing news, views and concerns and meeting members of the Prospects Executive team, including the Chief Executive. They also take information back to their regions, keeping everyone informed about what is happening.

Some things we have been doing

Over the past year, the Government has been producing lots of new guidance and we have been looking at the easy-to-read versions of these.  They include:

We have also looked at the "Every Vote Counts" pack and DVD from the Government.

These documents help us to understand how the Government defines good support for people with learning disabilities so that we can tell the people we represent in our regions.  Then they can decide if Prospects is doing a good job and they are getting the best support.
