History
Prospects was founded by David and Madeleine Potter in 1976 as "A Cause for Concern". The first service was opened in 1979 in Aberystwyth and in the next seven years second and third services were started in Reading and Bournemouth respectively
Since then Prospects has seen remarkable and accelerated growth throughout the United Kingdom. So that now, thirty years on from foundation, Prospects supports over 340 people with learning disabilities in a range of over 60 living and day opportunity settings throughout the UK.
In August 1997 Prospects achieved the Investor in People Award which accredits its professional approach to management practice and the training and development of staff and volunteers to fulfil its mission and objectives.
Prospects works in partnership with Local Authorities, Housing Associations and local churches. We are committed to expressing Christian principles and values through high standards of professional practice, supporting and enabling adults with learning disabilities to live their lives to the full.
