Prospects Support
Prospects supports people in residential, supported living, day opportunities and domiciliary care settings across the UK except Scotland.
Prospects values and supports people with learning disabilities. We seek to create the conditions in which they can thrive and grow. Everything we do is for people to live as independently as possible, to be active in their local community and to enjoy life to the full.
We are currently supporting over 350 people in the UK. Our services give people genuine freedom of choice and enable them as much as possible to live independently.
Supported living
One of the most important and fastest growing areas of our work is supporting people with learning disabilities in their own homes. No matter how disabled someone is, they have the right to housing of their choice. To make this happen, we work in partnership with the people we support and with their advocates and housing providers. We believe that supporting people in their own homes is the best way for them to live. It gives them real choices about how they live and enables them to take an active part in the local community.
Residential services
While some people choose to live independently in their own homes, others may need more support. We offer them the opportunity to live in small, family-sized groups in safe and comfortable houses. We run several residential services in the UK, each supporting between three and 10 people. Even though each person is living in a group, we give them personal and individual support. We also encourage them to make their own decisions and to live their lives in the way they choose.
Day opportunities
People thrive when theyre given positive opportunities to learn, develop their skills and get involved with other people. By providing individualised support packages, our day opportunities work does just that. It offers people with learning disabilities the chance to gain practical life skills such as using public transport, doing the shopping and learning how to cook. They can also find supported employment and volunteer work, go to college, learn about arts and crafts and get involved in the life of the community.
