Overseas Partnerships

Prospects works in partnership with a small number of overseas organisations and individuals who are committed to supporting children and adults with learning disabilities.

We do not attempt to set up new initiatives but rather to work in support of already established and credible projects.

Our desire is to work with projects and organisations for significant periods of time rather that short term or one off pieces of work.

In recent years our main focus has been to share our professional and spiritual experience which has included some of the following:

  • Strategic planning
  • Bible teaching e.g. Biblical leadership, Biblical Teamwork
  • Management practices and development
  • Professional practice PPV, specific conditions e.g. autism, behavioural management, record keeping, day activities, care management etc
  • HR and workforce management & development
  • Project management

Where we have partners we operate a volunteer placement programme where we channel volunteers who are seeking overseas mission opportunities. We carefully match project needs and volunteer experiences. Examples of volunteers we can place are Special Needs Teachers, Nurses and Social Workers.

We also encourage the principle that for all the partnership organisations there is a two way learning process that adds value. We encourage partners to visit the UK and to share their expertise with staff and volunteers.

We do not commit to recurring fundraising targets but we do make one off capital project needs known though our literature.

In the past the Charity has raised enough money to purchase and equip a house for 6 children in Romania and we currently have a school rebuilding project in India as our main project for this year.
